Artists Wanted

Well, the Pride Parade and weekend is winding down. The street cleaners were up into the wee hours making Church and Yonge Street’s look pretty again. Or at least litter free! Pride brought in approximately 1 million dollars to the local Toronto economy. Here at Lovecraft we were quite busy. Saturday kept the staff on their toes and Sunday was more of the same. People seemed to be visiting from the Greater Toronto Area, as well as farther afield. We welcomed visitors from the United States and beyond. Even though we were busy, everyone was pretty pleasant and didn’t seem to mind waiting a minute for help. Just more of the general feel good attitude of Pride!
Last week, Anne, the owner and one of her long standing and creative employees created a little art gallery at the back of the Yorkville location. Lovecraft has acquired a number of prints, paintings and sculptures over the years. We showcase them throughout the Yorkville shop, but we thought since we have the luxury of space why not feature the art. Currently we have our favourite Shinto fertility shrine, Japanese prints, and an erotic gargoyle among other pieces on view. So if you’re in Yorkville (in Toronto) you should stop by, take a look and let us know what you think.
We are considering showcasing other artists in our gallery. So if you or anyone you know is interested in displaying your art in Lovecraft please feel free to contact us via email info@lovecraftsexshop.com. We will accept ongoing submissions. This is a new idea for us; we hope it works out and we’d love to hear your feedback. Once we have our first opening, we’ll be sure and mention it in our blog as well as in our on line mailing list.
